We’ve received an alert from the FDA confirming the addition of 8 firms to Import Alert 99-48 Detention with Physical Examination of Foods Due to Chemical Contamination which will prevent the entry into the US of, in this case, processed clams due to the contamination with PFAS – per and polyfluoroalkyl substances.
Elevated levels of these chemicals were recorded in samples from these 8 firms. The 8 firms are:
- Donggang Hongxing Food Co., Ltd
- Donggang Yixing Food Co., Ltd
- Donggang City Tianhong Aquatic Foodstuff Co., Ltd
- Dandong Zhengrun Food Co., Ltd
- Nantong Changhua Aquatic Food Co., Ltd
- Liaoning Baichen Food Co., Ltd
- Dandong Jiamei Food Co., Ltd
- Donggang City Gangzhu Foodstuff Co., Ltd
