CUSTOMS CLEARANCE
Customs clearance is required for imported goods to be released to you, your buyers, or your consumers in the United States. Unless you’re authorized to do it yourself, presenting an entry to Customs for release requires a licensed customs broker such as Alba.
Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has many strict requirements on filing dates and information, and missing any of these dates or providing wrong information could lead to a shipment being delayed or worse: fines, entry denial, and even shipment seizure.
We clear hundreds of thousands of entries worth billions of dollars annually, many products requiring complicated regulatory filings and Participating Government Agency approvals. We thrive on developing solutions that best suit your organization’s needs.
If your current broker is struggling with your requirements as your business grows, we should talk.

CUSTOMS CONSULTING
You can leverage our customs consulting services whether you are located in the United States or elsewhere. The US customs clearance process for goods destined for the world’s biggest economy is complex, necessitating proper classification, country of origin markings and determinations, valuations and a significant amount of checks, licenses, and approvals.
As an Importer, you are expected to maintain the highest level of compliance and CBP will conduct electronic, documentary, and on-site audits to look for violations of import laws.
We provide you with consulting services to help you navigate CBP’s rules and regulations. From simple classifications and duty rates determinations, including opportunities to revise products to take advantage of more favorable classifications and duty rates, to determinations if your products are subject to additional trade remedies like antidumping / countervailing duties or Section 301 tariffs or not. We will be there every step of the way.
CBP also offers a number of programs, such as CTPAT, which require revalidations and documented processes that are checked every few years.
We can guide you here as well. Our customs consultants offer support for a variety of import compliance needs and can collaborate with your in-house counsel or recommend specialized customs counsel if necessary.
