Effective March 18, 2023, CBP will need the postal code for all manufacturers or shippers located China.

CBP wants all importers to know their suppliers and ensure no part of the processing or manufacturing of imported items utilized forced labor.   The manufacturer/shipper party (called Manufacturer party (MF) or Manufacturer Identification (MID) reported to CBP for textile or apparel products must be the actual manufacturerfor other commodities it may be the manufacturer or shipper (aka the invoicing party).

Per CBP’s new UFLPA ACE Enhancement Region Alert Information Notice for Trade (cbp.gov) Alba will need to include a postal code for all manufacturers/shippers located in China.

Please ensure the full name, address and postal code of this party is included on the commercial invoice Alba receives so that Alba can ensure proper filing of your entry.

CBP has stated failure to report the zip code will result in an error on the cargo release.   If the postal code reported is from the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region a warning message will be issued and the cargo will likely be detained, and the importer will need to prove to CBP that the goods were not made with forced labor.
