The FDA has announced some enhancements to help cosmetics industry companies keep registration and listing submissions up-to-date, and we wanted to provide them to you. Cosmetics Direct has been enhanced with two new features:
- Discontinuation of Cosmetic Product Listing feature. This provides organizations with the option to discontinue cosmetic products previously listed in Cosmetics Direct that are no longer on the market. A discontinued product will remain in the Structured Product Labelling (SPL) file and so can be reinstated if appropriate. If the product was deleted, it is permanently removed from the SPL
- Relisting feature. This provides organizations with the option to relist cosmetic products that were previously discontinued in Cosmetics Direct but are now being brought back to the market
These features are available to organizations whose name appears on the label of the appropriate cosmetic product, and should help in managing product listings more productively.
An updated Cosmetics Direct user guide is available here.
