We want to share an important update from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regarding cosmetic product registration and listing requirements under the Modernization of Cosmetics Regulation Act of 2022 (MoCRA).
As part of MoCRA, manufacturers and processors of cosmetic products distributed in the U.S. must:
- Register their facilities with the FDA and renew their registration every two years
- List each marketed cosmetic product—including ingredients—with the FDA and provide annual updates
- Be aware that certain small businesses and products subject to drug and device regulations may be exempt
