The Trump Administration has just announced the removal of tariffs on products from Brazil, including beef, coffee, cocoa, fruits and fruit products, juices, spices, and other goods originally subject to a 40% additional ad valorem rate. The tariff reduction is retroactive to products entered for consumption, or withdrawn from warehouse for consumption, on or after 12:01 am ET on November 13th, 2025.
You can read the Executive Order and view the updated Annex I and Annex II documents here.
Refunds due will be processed pursuant to applicable law and the standard procedures of US Customs and Border Protection for such refunds.
What this means for you:
Lower duties on Brazil origin goods = potential margin gains, pricing advantages, and sourcing shifts. If you’ve imported any of these commodities recently, there may be cash on the table.
How Alba can help immediately:
- Refund Review: We can identify any recoverable duties tied to the rollback
- HTS & Compliance Check: We can confirm classifications and origin declarations align with the new rule
- Forward Policy Monitoring: We will provide additional alerts on Brazil/LatAm tariff changes so you can stay ahead of shifts
Alba Companies, including John A. Steer, with its specialization in the meat & protein trade, and Advance Customs Brokers International and The Perishable Specialist, with their focus on the produce industry can help you navigate these changes.
