Potential Increased Tariff on Chinese Goods – 27

Daniel Cooke

October 11, 2025

Yesterday, President Trump announced via Truth Social that the United States will impose 100% tariffs on all Chinese products effective November 1st, 2025 — in addition to the 30% supplemental tariffs already in place, and on top of existing base duty rates.  The President also stated that new export controls will apply to critical software, signaling an escalation in US–China trade tensions.

These announcements come just as the current 90-day trade truce between the US and China is set to expire around November 9th, and is likely in response to China introducing new export controls on rare earth minerals effective December 1st, and EV battery technologies effective November.

The US has also canceled a planned meeting between President Trump and President Xi Jinping due to take place in South Korea.

We will continue to monitor this situation and await the official implementation communication.  If you have questions on this or any logistics topic, please contact your local office. for support.
