John Leonard, Executive Director at US Customs and Border Protection announces the launch of the United States-Mexico- Canada Center.
The implementation of the United States – Mexico – Canada (USMCA) agreement is fast approaching. According to Mr. Leonard the mission of the USMCA Center is to coordinate CBP’s implementation of the USMCA agreement to ensure a smooth transition from NAFTA. The goal is to provide consistent and comprehensive guidance as well as consistency and transparency to private and public sector stakeholders as you navigate this change.
The USMCA Center is a cornerstone of CBP’s USMCA implementation plan and will serve as a central communication hub between CBP and the trade community. Staffed with CBP experts from operational, legal, and audit disciplines, the USMCA Center will provide outreach and training for our private sector partners as well as new regulations and procedures.
