Chinese Ministry of Commerce said on Thursday that the U.S. and China have agreed to remove additional tariffs in phases once interim deal is signed.
Ministry spokesman Gao Feng said “If China and U.S. reach a phase one deal, both sides should roll back existing additional tariffs in the same proportion simultaneously.”
The proposed trade deal is expected to include a U.S. commitment to scrap $156 billion in Chinese imports.
