U.S. Customs and Border Protection proposes to amend regulations pertaining to import goods that violate or are suspected of violating copyright laws, including the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA).
The proposed amendments are intended to simplify the detention process involving goods suspected of violating the copyright laws, clarify the definition of‘‘piratical articles,’’ and add regulatory provisions to enforce the DMCA .
Comments on proposed rule are due no later than December 16, 2019.
